Come experience a little bit of Christmas magic and get ready for one of Downtown Hayward’s most dazzling nights of the year during the Light Your Engines Parade on December 6th.
There’s nothing quite like the nostalgia of glowing Christmas lights, the cozy charm of a small town, and the excitement of families and friends gathering to welcome Santa. As holiday-themed vehicles roll down Main Street in a moving display of color and creativity, you’ll feel the magic of the season come alive. This annual tradition has become a beloved celebration that brings our community — and visitors from near and far — together in the spirit of the holidays.
As the festive nighttime parade begins, Main Street lights up after hours with hundreds of holiday-themed vehicles and floats, all decked out in brilliant glowing displays. You’ll see everything from cars, trucks, trailers, ATVs and UTVs — even a huge illuminated cow! Each entry is as unique as the people who create them: some choreograph dancing lights to music, others showcase favorite Christmas movies, characters, inflatables, or imaginative holiday themes. An emcee will guide the fun, offering stories and descriptions of each passing float while participants hand out candy, treats, and plenty of smiles. And the best part? Every year is different — you never know what surprises are waiting around the corner.
The Light Your Engines Parade rolls down Main Street and turns onto 2nd Street as part of the annual Christmas In Hayward festivities. The parade begins at 6:00 PM (CST), so arrive early to find the perfect viewing spot. And don’t forget to dress warm — Wisconsin winter weather loves to keep us guessing!
